After the formalities have been dealt with you will walk the 100 meters to the harbour and board the dive boat for 3 / 4 hours at sea cage diving and surface viewing with the Great White Sharks, weather permitting. After the mornings activities you will return to Kleinbaai Harbour and after viewing the days adventure on video the White Shark Diving Company will transfer you back to Saxon Lodge in Gansbaai. Rest of the afternoon free to explore the small fishing village of Gansbaai, which can quite easily be done on foot. Also, it’s quite safe to do so! Overnight at Saxon Lodge on a bed and breakfast basis.

Day 03

Another day spent in the company of the Great White Sharks. After breakfast, at a time as advised by the White Shark Diving Company, you will check out of Saxon Lodge and the White Shark Diving Company will transfer back to Kleinbaai Harbour. You will again complete the formalities and board the dive boat for another 3 / 4 hours at sea cage diving with the Great White Sharks, weather permitting. After the mornings activities you will be collected from The White Shark Diving Company’s dive shop by a representative of Dive The Big 5 for the 2 hour road transfer to the small historical naval town of Simon’s Town which is situated on the coast of False Bay. Rest of the afternoon free. There are many interesting places to see and explore on foot from your B&B in Simon’s Town. And again, it’s totally safe to do so! Overnight at The Mariner Guesthouse in Simon’s Town on a bed and breakfast basis.

Day 04

At a time as advised the previous day you will be collected from the Mariner Guesthouse by Shark Explorers for the 10 minute transfer to their dive shop where you will sign the necessary indemnity forms, kit yourself out for the dive and transfer to the Simon’s Town small craft harbour for your full day deep water Blue and Mako Shark dive. This is a full day’s dive, departing the harbour at dawn and returning at about 15h00, depending on shark activity. It will take you about 2 hours boat ride from Simon’s Town Harbour, past Cape Point and about 50 km’s south of Cape Point to the area where the Blue and Mako Sharks are to be found. Once the sharks have been located the chum is decanted into the water to catch the sharks attention and a bait box full of mashed sardines is lowered to about 10 meters to hold the sharks attention. You then have the choice of “free diving” on snorkel with the sharks, or kitting up on scuba and diving with the sharks – your choice. Once every diver has had their fill of diving with the deep water predators, the Blue and Mako Sharks, you will return to Simon’s Town Harbour. You will get back to harbour at about 15h00. On return to harbour you will transfer back to the Mariner Guesthouse and the rest of the afternoon is free. Overnight at the Mariner Guesthouse on a bed and breakfast basis.

Day 05

You will check out of the Mariner Guesthouse and be transferred, at a time as advised the previous day, to the Simon’s Town Harbour for your second full day at sea diving with the Blue and Mako Sharks, weather permitting. You will return to Simon’s Town Harbour at about 15h00 for the 1½ hour road transfer to Leeuwenvoet House which is situated in the Cape Town suburb of Tamboerskloof, under the shadow of Table Mountain. Should the weather permit, and the Mountain is “open” your driver / guide will take you up the world famous Mountain by cable car before carrying onto Leeuwenvoet House. Table Mountain is one of the “must see’s” when visiting the Mother City, Cape Town and should be done at the very first opportunity as the weather plays an important roll when visiting the Mountain. High winds and low cloud often prevent the cable car from running and can obscure the view from the top. We always take clients up the Mountain at the first opportunity, you may not get a second chance!!  Overnight at Leeuwenvoet Housein a single room on a bed and breakfast basis.

Day 06

After breakfast, at about 09h00, you will be collected from Leeuwenvoet House by Hylton Ross Tours for your full day Peninsula Tour. You will travel along Sea Point and Clifton, along the Atlantic seaboard under the Twelve Apostles Mountain Range to the quaint fishing village of Hout Bay. Here you will board the boat for a short cruise to the entrance of the natural harbour of Hout Bay to visit the colony of Cape Fur Seals at the harbour entrance. From Hout Bay you travel over Chapman's Peak Drive, which is quite spectacular, and onto the Cape Point Nature Reserve. Chapman's Peak Drive is often closed due to falling rocks, especially in winter after heavy rain, but your guide will know if it’s open or closed to traffic. Cape Point Nature Reserve is spectacularly beautiful in its wind-swept barrenness, and if you are a romantic, you can actually see where the Indian and Atlantic Oceans "meet"! Included in the cost of the tour is the ride to the old lighthouse at the Point in the funicular. You get the most amazing views of the Peninsular from there. Lunch, which is for your own account is usually enjoyed here. After lunch you then visit the African "Jack-ass" Penguin Colony at Boulders Beach and Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens on your way back to Leeuwenvoet House after a very full and exciting day. Overnight at Leeuwenvoet House on a bed and breakfast basis.

Day 07

After a leisure breakfast you will call a cab for the short transfer to the Two Ocean’s Aquarium which is situated on Cape Town’s famous Waterfront for your 30 to 45 minute “Raggie” dive in the aquarium’s shark tank. Please ensure that you are at the aquarium a bit before 11h00 for the morning dive or a bit before 13h00 for the afternoon dive. Please note that dives are restricted to certified divers only and are limited to a maximum of 3 divers at a time. Should you not be a certified diver you are able to do a “resort course” at the aquarium at an additional cost. Please advise Dive The Big 5 if you would like to do the morning 11h00 dive or the afternoon 13h00 dive so that we can pre-book your dive as it is advisable to book in advance as only 3 divers are allowed into the shark tank at a time. Please also advise if you are a certified diver or not? Before and after your dive you are able to explore the Waterfront on your own as it is the most famous shopping area in Cape Town and there are dozens of restaurants and bars for lunch and entertainment. Overnight at Leeuwenvoet House on a bed and breakfast basis.

Day 08

After breakfast you will be collected from Leeuwenvoet House by Hylton Ross Tours at about 09h00 for your group guided Winelands Tour. From Leeuwenvoet you will head north to the town of Paarl. The first stop this morning is for the morning wine tasting at Nelsons Creek Estate. After a tour through their cellars with a chance to sample some of their local wines as well as a cheese tasting, a brief city tour of the historical town of Paarl follows, before you make your way to Franschoek with a photo stop at the Groot Drakenstein Prison where Nelson Mandela was released in Feb 1990. The little village of Franschoek is nestled amongst the mountains and can easily be mistaken for being in Switzerland. After a short tour of the village, a second wine tasting will follow at a local wine estate followed by a lunch stop (lunch is for your own account) – you might wish to savour some of the fresh trout that Franschoek is known for. After lunch the tour continues through to Stellenbosch. It is easy to understand why Simon van der Stel decided to establish a village amongst the mountains of the area. The backdrop of the Hottentots Holland Mountains, the white gabled Cape Dutch homesteads and the oak lined streets and lanes all blend in to give Stellenbosch a charm that will not be quickly forgotten. Time permitting, a third and final wine tasting in the region will be included before returning to Cape Town and Leeuwenvoet House. Overnight at Leeuwenvoet House on a bed and breakfast basis.

Day 09

At a time to be advised, depending on the departure time of your return flight home out of Cape Town International Airport you will be collected from Leeuwenvoet House by a representative of Dive The Big 5 for the 1 hour road transfer to Cape Town International Airport. End of services.
