This itinerary is unique to Southern Africa. Where else in the world can you experience Africa’s “Big 5” lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo and the next day be in tropical Mozambique about to dive with Whale Sharks and Manta Rays. This itinerary is also ideal for a diver with a non-diving partner. We can tailor this itinerary by extending your wildlife safari or the time spent diving the pristine tropical coral reefs of Mozambique.

Days 2 and 3 Full day on Safari at Nottens Bush Camp. The programme at all private lodges follow pretty much the same routine. Early morning wake up for tea and coffee before you set off for the dawn safari. You return to camp at about 09h00 for breakfast. The rest of the day is free to either go on a bush walk with your ranger, go to the pool to "chill out" during the heat of the day, go to the water hole to watch the animals come down to drink or to just relax in camp. Lunch is served at about 13h00 and the evening game drive departs at about 16h00. At sunset you stop "somewhere in the bush" for sun-downers and then you carry on into the night looking for the nocturnal animals with the aid of a powerful spot-lamp. The nocturnal animals are the cats such as lion, leopard, civet, serval, genet etc which you don't see during the day. You return to camp at about 20h30, depending on animal activity, for dinner which is usually in the "boma" under the African stars beside a roaring log fire. This is the way most people imagine an African Safari and is definitely the way to get the most out of your visit to Africa. Overnight at Notten’s Bush Camp on a fully inclusive basis. Included: Morning game drive, breakfast, nature walk, lunch, afternoon/evening game drive, dinner, accommodation. Excluded: Bar, items of a personal nature, gratuities.

The second dive of the day is on one of the “house reefs”, closer to the launch site, weather permitting. Whale Sharks are normally encountered on the boat ride to and from the reef. When the fin of the Whale Shark is spotted the skipper will drop you off in front of the animal, allowing the shark to swim up to the divers in the water. The amount of time spent in the water depends purely on the shark. Rest of the day free after the dive. Overnight at Barra Lodge on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis.
