Next to diving with Great White Sharks, free diving (no cage) with the Tiger Sharks must be the shark drivers ultimate “high”. Then follow this up with a 2 day wildlife safari in the world famous KrugerNational Park.

Join Tim Ray, founder and owner of Dive The Big 5, on a once in a lifetime guided tour of Great White Shark cage diving in Gansbaai and Tiger Shark diving on Aliwal Shoal followed by a 2 night wildlife safari in the Greater Kruger National Park from May 15 to May 24, 2011.

Itinerary

Day 1.
Sunday May 15 2011

Arrive Cape Town International Airport, own arrangements. On arrival you will be met by Tim of Dive The Big 5 for the two hour road transfer to Gansbaai. This transfer takes you through some spectacular mountain passes. Rest of the day free. Overnight at Saxon Lodge on a bed and breakfast basis.

Days 2 and 3
Monday May 16 and Tuesday May 17 2011

After an early morning wake up call and breakfast, Tim will transfer you to Kleinbaai Harbour where, after signing the necessary indemnity forms, you will board the dive boat for 3 hours at sea in “Shark Alley” cage diving with the Great White's of Gansbaai, weather permitting. Shark Alley is a narrow channel between Dyer Island and Geyser Rock, the latter being home to some 60 000 Cape Fur Seals. The islands are 5km (3 miles) from the mainland. This is the natural hunting ground of the Great White Shark and the area in which they are most commonly encountered. After the dive the rest of the day is free. Tim will be available to take you to all the local places of interest, such as Danger Point where HMS Birkenhead went down, Cape Agulhas where the two Oceans meet, and other places of local interest. Overnight at Saxon Lodge on a bed and breakfast basis.

Day 4.
Wednesday May 18 2011

Your last “date” with the Great White’s of Gansbaai, weather permitting. After the dive and a quick shower you will be transferred by Tim back to Cape Town International Airport in time to connect with flight SA 620 which departs Cape Town at 17h20 for Durban. On arrival at Durban’s King Shaka International Airport at 19h15 Tim will transfer you to RockyBay, a small seaside resort on the KwaZulu/Natal south coast. This is a road transfer of about 45 minutes. Overnight at Ellingham Resort on a bed and breakfast basis. www.rockybay.co.za

Days 5 to 7.
Thursday May 19 to Saturday May 21 2011

An early wake-up call and breakfast in the restaurant at Ellingham. Then a short walk to “Shark Park”, the dive shop situated on Ellingham Resorts’ premises, to be there by 08h00 for the dive briefing and to kit up in preparation for the days Tiger dive. We launch the boat at about 09h00, weather permitting, for 5 hours at sea diving with the Tiger's of Africa, without the protection of a cage!! This is shark diving at it's’ ultimate best and the experience will be indelibly imprinted in your memory forever.

Depending on shark activity and weather conditions we will return to Rocky Bay at about 14h00. After the dive the rest of the day is free. Again, Tim will be on hand to take you to local places of interest such at the Oribi Gorge, the Natal Sharks Board in Durban or a City Tour of Durban followed by dinner. (Please note dinner would be for your own account.) Overnight at Ellingham Resort on a bed and breakfast basis.
Included:  Breakfast; services of Tim as your host & tour guide; 5 hours at sea diving with the Tigers of Africa, weather permitting: tanks/weights/air; services of a qualified DM; refreshments on board; accommodation.

Day 8.
Sunday May 22 2011

After breakfast, Tim will transfer you back to King Shaka International Airport in time to connect with flight SA 8050 which departs Durban for Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport at 13h45. On arrival at Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport @ 14h45 you will be transferred by Dive The Big 5 to the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve, and Notten's Bush Camp. This is a road transfer of about two hours. The Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve forms part of the Greater Kruger National Park Conservancy which means that there are no fences between the Sabi Sand and Kruger so that the animals are free to move between these two wildlife sanctuaries. On arrival at Nottens you will drop your bags off at your chalet and you will immediately depart on the evening safari. At sunset you will stop somewhere in the bush for sun-downers before continuing on into the night looking for the nocturnal animals with the aid of a powerful spot lamp. Depending on the animal activity you will return to camp at about 20:30 for dinner in the "boma", around a roaring log fire, under the African stars.

Day 9
Monday May 23 2011

Full day on safari in the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve. You will be woken by the beat of African Drums for early morning, tea and coffee which is served at the Lodge before venturing out for the early morning safari. Again, depending on the animal activity you will return to camp at about 09:00 for brunch. After brunch you are free to enjoy the tranquility of the African Bush. You can either go for a bush walk in "Big 5" country with your armed ranger & tracker, relax on the deck and watch the game come down to drink at a nearby water hole, spend the time bird watching in and around the camp or just laze by the pool. After high-tea you will again board the "open" safari vehicles for the afternoon / evening safari which departs camp at about 16:00. Again, depending on the animal activity you will return to camp at about 20:30 for dinner in the "boma", beside the roaring log fire, under the African stars. Overnight at Notten's Bush Camp on a fully inclusive basis. (All meals and safari activities).
Included: Breakfast; early morning safari; services of a qualified ranger & tracker; optional  bush walk in “big 5” territory; brunch; early evening safari; dinner; accommodation.
Excluded: Bar; items of a personal nature; gratuities.

Day 10.
Tuesday May 24 2011

After the early morning game drive and breakfast at 10h00 Dive The Big 5 Transfers will transfer you back to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport, where you will take leave of Tim and board flight SA 8842 which departs Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport @ 13h35 for Johannesburg International. On arrival at Johannesburg International Airport at 14h40 you will have plenty of time to connect with your return flight home. End of Services.
Included: Breakfast; early morning safari; road transfer from Notten’s Bush Camp back to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport; domestic air from Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport to Johannesburg International Airport.
